Lumina

What it is

Lumina is an open-source, cross-platform Electron desktop gallery for CivitAI. It queues prompts into your local ComfyUI server through a mapped API workflow and downloads missing LoRAs, on Windows, macOS and Linux.

I built Lumina, an open-source, cross-platform Electron desktop gallery for browsing CivitAI images and sending their prompts into a local ComfyUI server. It uses an API workflow you upload and map, so a selected post can queue a generation without dragging files onto the ComfyUI canvas.

Result

Lumina is open source on GitHub with a v1.0.0 release that ships installers for all three platforms. Artists can browse CivitAI, fill missing LoRAs and queue prompts into their own ComfyUI from one desktop app.

The problem

Browsing CivitAI and regenerating a look in ComfyUI usually means copying prompts by hand, hunting missing LoRAs and juggling downloads. I wanted one desktop app that keeps the gallery, prompt metadata, LoRA checks and the ComfyUI queue together, on Windows, macOS and Linux.

What it does

  • Virtualized masonry, grid and list views with search, base-model, period and sort filters
  • A lightbox with prompt, negative prompt, sampler metadata and resources
  • One-click prompt send into a running local ComfyUI server through your mapped API workflow
  • Missing-LoRA detection with downloads into the ComfyUI models/loras folder
  • A download manager with pause, resume, retry and a concurrency limit
  • Light and dark themes and local image save

How it's built

  • A frameless Electron 40 app with React 19, TypeScript, Vite and Tailwind CSS 4
  • CI plus tag-based releases that build Windows, macOS and Linux installers
